Please Help.

ImportantJust a few words about our babies. We will no longer adopt to families who have a pool that isn't fence so that a pug cannot fall in.
We will no longer adopt to families with a big dog either outside or inside. Too many of our pugs have been either injured or killed by large dogs that have gotten along with them for years. We simply can not take that chance any longer. If you have any questions, contact us for more information.

Adoption Fees

Adoption fees are: 350.00 up to 3 years
275.00 3 year and 1 day up to 6 years
250.00 6 year and 1 day to 9 years
(fee can vary depending on age and health conditions)

The fee will be discussed during the application period. The fee is in place to cover the costs of vaccination, spay or neuter, heartworm testing and to treat other medical issues.

Bruce
Bruce

Bruce is between six and eight years old and such a love. Just look at that squishy face. Bruce wants to be with his human at all times and will bellow like a moose if he knows you are in the house and he can't see you. Bruce is just a big teddy bear of a pug. He gets along great with all the other pugs in his foster home and is very laid back. He does fine when no one is home but needs a furry sibling to keep him company when his family is away. Bruce loves to sleep in his human's bed and doesn't move all night once he is settled. He also doesn't mind sleeping later than the other pugs. If you want a pug that will want to be by your side at all times, Bruce might fit the bill. He is hoping his new forever family finds him soon!

If you would like to adopt Bruce, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Charlie
Charlie

Charlie is a 4-5 year old fawn male. He was passed around from home to home before coming in to rescue. He's a funny little guy with lots of energy, and he gets along great with his foster brothers and sisters. Charlie isn't a big fan of crates, but he will sleep in one without too much complaining. His house manners are quite good. He's healthy and an 'easy keeper'. He would enjoy a canine companion, or maybe a human sibling. He will need prescription drops in his eyes for life due to a condition called PK, which is common among pugs. Charlie is loving and playful. When you meet him, you'll fall in love with him. He loves attention, and his favorite place is on your lap or close to you. Charlie hopes his new family will find him soon so he can begin his next chapter.

If you would like to adopt Charlie, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Layla
Layla

Layla is six years old and a beautiful girl. She was adopted three years ago and recently came back due to digestive issues. We are working on getting her better. For now she is on medical hold unless a special family wants to adopt knowing she may always have issues. Most likely she will continue indefinitely on meds and probiotics for her tummy. Layla is such a sweetheart! She just wants to be close by and feel the love. She does well on her house manners if let out several times a day and will do best with someone who is home a lot and not gone 8-10 hours a day. Layla's medical issue makes her think she needs to poop several times a day. She postures and by the end of the day there is no poop left. She is crate trained but prefers not being in one. Layla does get along great with her foster fur siblings but could also be the only fur child in the home. Layla is hoping her new family finds her soon and realizes what a special girl she is.

If you would like to adopt Layla, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Ginny
Ginny

Ginny is a 10 year old fawn female that was surrendered to a shelter due to health issues. She has finished her heart worm treatments and is doing great. She has already put on some weight, but she probably needs to gain a few more pounds. Ginny eats well and will accept just about any treat she is offered. She does need her food watered down, or she will walk away from it if it gets too dry. Ginny loves to play with toys, balls, and nylabones, but she does not like to share. She gets along well with her foster fur siblings, but she will growl at them if they get near a toy she has in her mouth. Ginny is affectionate and loves to be petted and sometimes she will roll over on her back for a belly rub. Ginny likes to snuggle up to her human in bed when she sleeps at night and likes to be where her human or foster siblings are. Ginny is housebroken and crate trained. She does need to go out on a regular basis (every two to three hours) to make sure she doesn't have any accidents in the house. Although Ginny gets along with her other fur foster siblings, she doesn't take any guff from them if one starts something. Ginny is hoping to find a forever home soon. She has lots of love left to give.

If you would like to adopt Ginny, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Sasha
Sasha

Sasha is a thirteen year old black girl that had to be surrendered by her family. She came in with her brother Louie but it appears she can be separated from him. They don't have much to do with each other but I am sure she would like a fur companion. Sasha is spunky and doesn't act her age at all. Although she has a bit of arthritis, she gets around great. Sasha is potty trained and can't wait to meet her new family. Please consider giving this sweet girl a loving home to live the rest of her life in. Seniors are the best!

If you would like to adopt Sasha, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Festus
Festus

Festus is between six and eight years old and was in a local shelter. He came to us with skin issues due to a flea infestation but is looking better every day. He also has dry eyes and requires daily drops which are easy to administer. Festus loves to play with squeaky toys, balls and enjoys nylabones. He gets along great with his foster fur siblings and loves to cuddle with his human, at times rolling on his back for a belly rub. If you close a door behind you, he will scratch on the door to get to you. Festus is still working on his house manners but is doing much better. It is best to be outside with him to be sure he goes potty. Festus doesn't mind a crate but enjoys sleeping with his human and at times will get under the covers. He is a sweet boy and is hoping his new forever home will soon be found. Festus has lots of love to give some lucky family.

She has a few issues with her hips but is on supplements and getting some acupuncture treatments and is doing much better. She loves to cuddle with her foster pug sister. Maggie is the perfect little pug and hopes someone can find it in their heart to give her the perfect forever home.

Angel
Angel

Hi, my name is Angel, I'm around 12 years old but we pugs are not great at counting so I could be off a year or two. I just had a dental and now my teeth are sparkling clean. . I still love eating hard and soft food . I have a bad back hip so I do not do stairs really well and I don't move very fast but I love spending time in the yard smelling new smells and following the chickens around. I'm not extremely active and love lying around on my bed. I like playing with my foster brothers and sisters and get along with them great. It is better if I eat alone because sometimes I think they want to take my food. I do have accidents in the house sometimes, mainly of the stinky type, but my foster parents say they are very easy to clean up. With my age sometimes I just can't hold it. Overall I am in good health and I can't wait to find my forever home as I still have a lot of love to give.

If you would like to adopt Angel, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Cookie
Cookie

Cookie came in with two others and was used all of her years for breeding. Cookie is ten years old. She is dangerously overweight but has lost some pounds all ready just by feeding good food and monitoring portions. She is a sweet girl and gets along great with her foster sisters. She is hoping a loving family will adopt her and let her be the pug she was always meant to be. Her forever home would have to continue her weight loss program so she can get healthy and breathe easier. Cookie is feeling the love and wants to share her love with a family that will love and take care of her forever.

If you would like to adopt Cookie, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Peanut
Peanut

Peanut is ten years old and has been having puppies all her life. When she came to us she was over 32 pounds and is now down to less than thirty. She continues to lose and will soon have her pretty puggy figure back. Peanut was never socialized so is learning what being a pug is all about. She is starting to look at toys but not sure what to do with them. She does love nylabones and balls! The longer she is with us, the bigger lover she becomes. Peanut loves attention but is still pretty shy with people she doesn't know. She is learning from her foster fur siblings that being petted is a good thing. She is doing well on her house manners and is great going into a crate. Peanut is hoping for a forever family to love who will have the patience to continue to work with her and give her all the love she deserves.

If you would like to adopt Peanut, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Marilyn
Marilyn

Marilyn is 14 and was surrendered by her family. The new baby made her nervous but Marilyn is as sweet as can be. She loves to follow you around and although she is a big girl she doesn't mind being in your lap. Marilyn is on a diet to regain her girlish figure so measuring her food intake is a must. She is a laid back girl but has moments when she will play with a toy, although she loses interest fast. She knows how to use a dog door and loves to sleep with her human if she can. It is hard to lose your family after 11 years but she has adjusted well and is hoping there is someone out there that would love to give this sweet senior a forever home. She is a very easy keeper but you must go out with her when she needs to potty. She doesn't like to be alone. Marilyn would prefer to be the only queen in her castle.

If you would like to adopt Marilyn, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Sammie
Sammie

Sammie is a handsome nine year old boy. He takes medication twice a day to control seizures. If he stays on his meds he is seizure free. Sammie was with us for almost a year and then was adopted. We thought we had found the perfect home for him but that wasn't the case. He was recently returned to us for no reason of his own. Sammie is one of the sweetest, most gentle boys we have ever had. He loves to be next to you on the sofa and he loves to give kisses. He is so deserving of a family of his own to love and we can't understand why he is back. Sammie just had a dental. He had some infected teeth and feels so much better and his kisses no longer knock you over. Sammie needs a quiet and peaceful environment to call his own and a family that will never turn their back on him again and will love him forever.

If you would like to adopt Sammie, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.
