ImportantJust a few words about our babies. We will no longer adopt to families with a big dog either outside or inside. Too many of our pugs have been either injured or killed by large dogs that have gotten along with them for years. We simply can not take that chance any longer. If you have any questions, contact us for more information.

Adoption Fees

Adoption fees are: 300.00 up to 3 years
275.00 3 years up to 6 years
250.00 7 years to 9 years
(fee can vary depending on age and health conditions)

The fee will be discussed during the application period. The fee is in place to cover the costs of vaccination, spay or neuter, heartworm testing and to treat other medical issues.

Percy Jackson
Percy Jackson

Percy Jackson is less than two years old and such a sweetheart. His tail is always wagging so fast it is a blur. He isn't crazy active like most pugs his age. He is a bit hyper at first but then settles down and just wants to be loved. PJ gets along great with his foster fur buddies and loves to play and run in the yard. His former home had very young children and they seemed to stress him out but he should do fine with well behaved kids over six years old. This little guy won't last long. If you have been looking for a young boy to love Percy Jackson might be the one for you. He can't wait to meet his new family!!

If you would like to adopt Percy Jackson, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Pugsley
Pugsley

Pugsley is about three years old and has had a rough life. He came into a shelter as a stray with puncture wounds all over his little body. His owners were actually located but they said he had been gone for over two months and they didn't want him anymore. We have no idea how long this little guy was on his own or what kind of animal hurt him. His wounds are healed up and he has a loving spirit. Pugsley loves to be with humans and wants to be right by your side. He prefers to have his human's lap to himself but is learning to share. Although he has a serious look on his face most of the time he does like to play. He gets along well with his furry friends but doesn't like another dog in his face. I think it scares him and he does express his opinion on the matter. He can be a bit bossy and will do best with a laid back fur sibling. Pugsley is small for a pug and will remain that way. He is cute as a button and is hoping a loving family finds him soon. No kids under six please as we think they would stress him out.

If you would like to adopt Pugsley, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Kiley
Kiley

Kiley is approximately 11 years old and was surrendered to us after seven years with her family. I am still shaking my head over this one. Kiley is so sweet and a happy girl who loves belly rubs. She gets along great with everyone, humans and furry friends alike. Kiley has so much love to give and great house manners if you pay attention to her and notice when she needs to go out. She loves to roam the yard and enjoy the flowers. Adopting a senior can be the most rewarding adoption of all. They have so much love to give and are such easy keepers. All they want is a soft bed, good food and lots of love. Please consider giving this girl the home she should have had.

If you would like to adopt Kiley, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Rosie
Rosie

Rosie was left in a box inside a small rescue in Arkansas. She was dumped on a busy highway and a good Samaritan put her in a box and placed her inside the gate of the rescue. You see Rosie is blind so she didn't move out of that box. She was also terrified and waited for someone to help her. She was so very shy at first and still is wary of strangers and touch. But she is learning to be a true pug and will now zoom around the yard and be silly. It is such a joy to see her like this!! Rosie doesn't know she is blind so she just goes on acting as though she has sight. I do think she might see shadows as she rarely bumps into anything. Rosie has touched many hearts and we are looking for a very very special home for her. The perfect family will be patient, loving, kind and treat Rosie like a princess. Our little apricot pug in a box, deserves nothing but the best in life.

If you would like to adopt Rosie, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Breane
Breane

Breane is a sweet girl between 5 to 8 years old. She is house trained and gets along very well with her pug brother. She loves to be around her human all the time and follows you wherever you go. She loves belly rubs and does not miss any chances for getting those. Breane is very calm and brings peace with her wherever she goes. She needs to take medications every 6 or 8 hours for trachea issues and coughs when she gets excited. Breane is a very happy loving girl who doesn't let coughing slow her down. Please consider this sweet baby as a perfect addition to your family.

If you would like to adopt Breane, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Buddy
Buddy

Buddy is ten years old and had to be surrendered when his mommy went into Assisted Living. He was so stressed that he didn't eat for several days. Buddy is learning to relax and does very well with other dogs, but he is still timid and stand offish. He is non-territorial and not aggressive at all He loves car rides and will walk on a leash. He is potty trained, but has never been crated in his life. He needs to be with someone that will have time to love him and regain his trust. Please give this sweet senior another chance to have a loving family.

If you would like to adopt Buddy, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Sir Winston
Sir Winston

Sir Winston came to us when his family was unable to pay his medical bills. His back end went down and he could barely walk. With meds and acupuncture he is running and playing like any four year old. Like humans there are times when pugs have disc issues too. His walk and back legs will always be a little wonky but he is doing great and no longer needs any treatments. Winston is a sweet boy and such a cuddler. He wants to be some lucky family's best friend. Unfortunately he was not on heartworm preventative and has heartworms which will be treated in June. After that he will be neutered and ready for his new home sometime in August. He has no symptoms so should do great with his treatment. He has the sweetest little face ever and can't wait to start his new life.

If you would like to adopt Sir Winston, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Emma
Emma

Emma is eight years old and was retired as a breeder. She decided she has had enough of babies and deserves to be a pampered princess in a loving home. Emma is such a loving funny full figured girl. She is on a weight loss program and should shed several pounds. Right now she is a round as she is short. Emma loves to be wherever you are and is a great couch buddy. She gets along great with her foster fur siblings and wouldn't mind a furry companion in her new home. Emma is eager to start her new life with a family who will treat her like the princess she was always meant to be.

Grover
Grover

Grover is estimated to be around five years old and a handsome lad. He is doing great on his house manners and is pretty easy to get along with. He does have one flaw though and that is don't mess with his food!! He doesn't try to steal anyone else's but doesn't like anyone to touch his food or bowl while eating. For this reason he will not be adopted to a home with children under eight. He like to hand out with his humans and wants to be in the same room with you. He sleeps with his human and has not been crated. We tried that and he screamed bloody murder. Some pugs just don't adapt to a crate so he is gated in a safe room when no one is home. He gets along great with the other pugs in his foster home and would do well with a fur brother or sister but also would be happy as an only fur child. He had some itchy skin issues when he came to us but is doing great. Although he still needs to gain a few pounds that won't be difficult. The boy loves to eat! Grover is ready to meet his new family and start a wonderful new life.

If you would like to adopt Grover, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Angel
Angel

Hi, my name is Angel, I'm around 10 years old but we pugs are not great at counting so I could be off a year or two. I just had a dental and now my teeth are sparkling clean. . I still love eating hard and soft food . I have a bad back hip so I do not do stairs really well and I don't move very fast but I love spending time in the yard smelling new smells and following the chickens around. I'm not extremely active and love lying around on my bed. I like playing with my foster brothers and sisters and get along with them great. It is better if I eat alone because sometimes I think they want to take my food. I do have accidents in the house sometimes, mainly of the stinky type, but my foster parents say they are very easy to clean up. With my age sometimes I just can't hold it. Overall I am in good health and I can't wait to find my forever home as I still have a lot of love to give.

If you would like to adopt Angel, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Gabby
Gabby

Gabby is a nine year old sweet girl that was taken to the vet to be euthanized. She had an inner ear infection and her family didn't want to pay for treatment. Poor Gabby didn't understand why she was left behind to die. Luckily we were called and she was surrendered to us. Gabby was so scared and fearful at first but day by day she becomes more confident and is starting to bark for food. She must be feeling better!! She is still timid with strangers but just wants to be loved. Please consider giving this sweet senior another chance to be part of a loving family.

If you would like to adopt Gabby, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Pujo is a very handsome man and knows how to sit, shake hands, lie down and roll over. He is good with well behaved kids, and although shy, gets along great with his foster fur siblings. Pujo seems to prefer a quiet home. Pujo is hoping his new family finds him soon so he can start his wonderful new home with a family that will love him forever. If you have been looking for a sweet pug boy to love, Pujo might be the perfect fit.

If you would like to adopt Pujo, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Gracie
Gracie

Gracie is between six and eight years old and has very limited vision. She may see some shadows, but that is about it. Gracie is housebroken and although she will go in a crate, she doesn't like them much but once inside her crate, she does well. Gracie enjoys her fur foster siblings, but does NOT like them in her face. Blind dogs frequently have a problem with another dog in their space as they can't see them and it triggers a response. She is an alpha girl and will do best as an only fur child or with a very laid back male. Gracie wants to be around her person at all times. She will come to wherever her person is and sit or lay down while they work. She likes to sleep with her human and loves nylabones and stuffed toys. She likes to play with the toys but also likes to lie on top of them. When tired, she will suck one of her toys and go to sleep. Like most pugs, Gracie loves to eat and likes her yogurt and pumpkin with her dinner. She is a good girl and needs a home that is calm and peaceful. Because of her limited sight, she will not do well with small children. Gracie needs another chance at a forever home and is eager to meet her new family.

If you would like to adopt Gracie, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Lyrik is an adorable little guy that will turn two in February. He is very shy and needs a fur buddy to give him confidence and hang out with when his family is not home. He does have PK which will require eye drops at least twice a day for the rest of his life. Lyrik loves toys and nylabones and is getting more relaxed and confident with each passing day. He needs a home that will not be chaotic and will give him time for him to find his inner pug. Lyrik is sweet as can be and is looking forward to starting his new life with a loving family.

She is blind but gets along great navigating the house and yard. She loves to cuddle and is very sweet. T-Bone is deaf and very vocal. He loves to bark his commands to you and is always wagging his tail. T-Bone is such a happy guy and will make you laugh. He always has that tongue out and loves to be close by his humans. This adorable pair deserves to spend their twilight years in a loving home. They are just a joy to have around and can't wait to meet their new family

KiKi
KiKi

KiKi is three or four years old and has a wonderful personality. She is playful with her foster sister's dogs and cat. We are told she is the perfect houseguest. She sleeps and eats in her kennel if necessary. KiKi has what is called a micro eye so she is vision impaired in her left eye. She does get startled if she doesn't see you approach on that side. She prefers you to talk to her first so she knows you are there. She is extremely sweet and has such great manners. KiKi does need allergy medication every day and we are still working on clearing up her ears. They were red, inflamed and swollen when she first arrived but are so much better now. Because she is vision impaired and her ears can be tender, we won't place her in a home with children under eight years old. She loves to be with people but is also happy laying on her dog bed. KiKi will make some lucky family a wonderful new member.

If you would like to adopt KiKi, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Boss Hogg
Boss Hogg

Boss Hogg is a handsome big boy at 24.5 pounds. He will be two in February and is very shy. He will run from you until he feels comfortable and then will be your best friend. He has had former trauma to his eyes and has PK which will require eye drops a couple of times a day. Other than that he is a healthy guy with lots of love to give. He likes nylabones and squeaky toys and gets along great with all of his foster fur brothers and sisters. He is used to having lots of doggie friends and really needs a buddy to hang out with when his family is not home. Boss is ready to meet his new family and start his wonderful new life.

Houdini
Houdini

Houdini was thrown out of a moving vehicle in the country. He is between three and five years old and a complete sweetheart. He loves to play and gets along great with all of his foster fur siblings. Unfortunately he was diagnosed with early cataracts. Because of this his sight is not very good. We are going to look into cataract surgery, but it is very expensive so he may need help with the cost. We want to be able to restore vision if at all possible. He is too young to go blind. Please consider helping this little guy gain his sight back. He deserves a much better life than what he had.

If you would like to adopt Houdini, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

If you would like to adopt Ike, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Pepe

Pepe was dumped at the shelter by his family. After getting blood work at the vet it was discovered he is a diabetic. He takes insulin twice a day and is doing great. Pepe is eight years old and full of spunk. He zips around the house and yard like a three old and is such a sweet boy. He is housebroken and is learning the dog door. She isn't quite house-trained, but she mostly goes on the newspapers. She is terrified of going outside, so we're working on that. She gets along fine with other dogs, although she is scared of people she doesn't know. Belle is a pretty little girl with an adorable underbite smile and would do best in a patient, quiet home. She'll take some time to warm up to you, but once she does Belle Starr will steal your heart.

Cookie
Cookie

Cookie came in with two others and was used all of her seven years for breeding. She is dangerously overweight but has lost some pounds all ready just by feeding good food and monitoring portions. She is a sweet girl and gets along great with her foster sisters. She is hoping a loving family will adopt her and let her be the pug she was always meant to be. Her forever home would have to continue her weight loss program so she can get healthy and breathe easier. Cookie is feeling the love and wants to share her love with a family that will love and take care of her forever.

If you would like to adopt Cookie, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Peanut
Peanut

Peanut is seven years old and has been having puppies all her life. When she came to us she was over 32 pounds and is now down to less than thirty. She continues to lose and will soon have her pretty puggy figure back. Peanut was never socialized so is learning what being a pug is all about. She is starting to look at toys but not sure what to do with them. She does love nylabones and balls! The longer she is with us, the bigger lover she becomes. Peanut loves attention but is still pretty shy with people she doesn't know. She is learning from her foster fur siblings that being petted is a good thing. She is doing well on her house manners and is great going into a crate. Peanut is hoping for a forever family to love who will have the patience to continue to work with her and give her all the love she deserves.

He is deaf and blind although he might see some shadows. He is a very unusual brindle color and a sweet old man. You would never guess his age by his actions. Gilligan loves to nibble on you and lick your arm. He even will play with a toy now and then! He is deaf and can't see much but that doesn't stop our senior bundle of energy. He is quite the character and will keep you entertained. He still needs to gain some weight but other than that is healthy and happy. Gilligan does great with his foster fur brothers and sisters and hopes a family will consider giving an old man a loving home to spend his twilight years in.

Hailey is a petite girl, and loves to be with her human. She is the sweetest girl ever and gets along well with her foster fur siblings, including the kitties.

Sock
Sock
Sock

Sock is seven years old and came into rescue after a recent breeder release. She spent all of her life having puppies. She is a very sweet girl, but very shy as she barely had any human contact in her life prior to coming to us. She grows more self confident and friendly every day and loves to watch her foster fur sisters and brothers interact. She seems to be learning so much from them. She loves to sleep with her human and doesn't much care for her crate but will go in if necessary. Who can blame her! She was crated most of her life. Sock loves to lie on the sofa and watch television, but isn't much of a cuddler yet. Sock continues to grow more trusting of humans everyday and is looking for a forever family that will have lots of patience as she grows into the pug she was always meant to be.

If you would like to adopt Sock, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Marilyn
Marilyn

Marilyn is 13 and was surrendered by her family. The new baby made her nervous but Marilyn is as sweet as can be. She loves to follow you around and although she is a big girl she doesn't mind being in your lap. Marilyn is on a diet to regain her girlish figure so measuring her food intake is a must. She is a laid back girl but has moments when she will play with a toy, although she loses interest fast. She knows how to use a dog door and loves to sleep with her human if she can. It is hard to lose your family after 11 years but she has adjusted well and is hoping there is someone out there that would love to give this sweet senior a forever home. She is a very easy keeper but you must go out with her when she needs to potty. She doesn't like to be alone. Marilyn would prefer to be the only queen in her castle.

If you would like to adopt Marilyn, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Sammie
Sammie

Sammie is a handsome eight year old boy. He takes medication twice a day to control seizures. If he stays on his meds he is seizure free. Sammie was with us for almost a year and then was adopted. We thought we had found the perfect home for him but that wasn't the case. He was recently returned to us for no reason of his own. Sammie is one of the sweetest, most gentle boys we have ever had. He loves to be next to you on the sofa and he loves to give kisses. He is so deserving of a family of his own to love and we can't understand why he is back. Sammie just had a dental. He had some infected teeth and feels so much better and his kisses no longer knock you over. Sammie needs a quiet and peaceful environment to call his own and a family that will never turn their back on him again and will love him forever.

If you would like to adopt Sammie, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.
