Please Help.

ImportantJust a few words about our babies. We will no longer adopt to families with a big dog either outside or inside. Too many of our pugs have been either injured or killed by large dogs that have gotten along with them for years. We simply can not take that chance any longer. If you have any questions, contact us for more information.

Adoption Fees

Adoption fees range from $200.00 to $300.00 depending on the age and health of the Pug. The fee will be discussed during the application period. The fee is in place to cover the costs of vaccination, spay or neuter, heartworm testing and to treat other medical issues.

Sammie
Sammie

Sammie is at least eight years old and was left in the yard when her momma died. When we found out about it, we put plans in motion to get her into rescue. Sammie is as sweet as they come. She tends to be a bit timid at times mostly if you go to pet her head from over the top. She is blind with a little dry eye occasionally, but we think she can see some shadows. She maneuvers around really well and can jump in a chair and take a nap or hop on a cot and sleep through the night. Sammie is all about lounging on a blanket wherever it may be. Don't let her fool ya though, she will get up and play with some of her younger fur buddies when she is feeling a little sassy. She was very shy when she first arrived here, but certainly came out of her shell once she felt secure and realized she was going to hang out a the same place for a while and not be shuffled around. Don't pass up the opportunity to love and loved by this sweet senior.

If you would like to adopt Sammie, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Cici
Cici

Cici is a beautiful three year old blonde that had to be surrendered after her daddy died. She gets along well with her foster fur brother and sister. Cici loves tennis balls and is very playful. She is a big girl and can stand to lose a few pounds but is a total lap puppy. Cici loves kids and can run and play with them all day. She is ready and eager to meet her new family and start her wonderful new life!

If you would like to adopt Cici, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Kris
Kris

Kris is between three and five years old and came to us with an injured foot and a big gash on his side. Several bite marks were discovered on him and we think he was attacked by a larger animal. When we got him to the vet the foot was so badly infected that all the surrounding tissue was dying and his leg had to be amputated. This has not slowed him down one bit and he plays and gets around as though he never lost a leg at all. He is such a sweet boy and has never had an accident in his foster mom's home. He is wonderful with the other dogs in his foster home and loves the human grand baby. Any family would be lucky to add such a wonderful little guy to their home.

If you would like to adopt Kris, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Ben
Ben

Ben is ten years old and had to be surrendered by his mommy when she moved. Ben had very bad skin issues but is on medications and is looking 100% better. He is an exceptionally sweet boy. Ben is very mellow and gets along with anybody and everybody. He sometimes feels a little frisky and will play "chase the hand" with his human. He is a pretty happy go lucky guy and now and then you can catch a glimpse of him "smiling." Just a little smile, but it is there. Ben has big beautiful, brown eyes that will capture your heart. We do believe he is deaf, but that does NOT stop him one bit. We can't say enough of what a wonderful guy Ben is. He will make a great addition to any family. He really likes to hang out in his crate and will literally knock on the crate door till you let him in. So if he could get a home with an open crate door policy he would love to apply for the position.

If you would like to adopt Ben, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Pickles
Pickles

Pickles was in a local shelter with horrible skin issues and a bad case of mange. His fur is now growing in and each day he looks and feels better. He has the cutest face ever. Pickles is no more than two years old and such a sweet guy. He gets along great with his foster fur siblings and likes to play with toys and loves his nylabones! Pickles is crate trained and is doing great on his house manners. He loves to cuddle but doesn't have to be with you every minute. Pickles is hoping his new family finds him soon so he can be home for the holidays.

If you would like to adopt Pickles, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Doc Holliday
Doc Holliday
Doc Holliday

Doc Holliday was in a local shelter wondering how he got there. He is around four or five years old and just the sweetest guy ever according to everyone that meets him. He has had all of his vet work including a dental. Doc will screech when he can't find you. It is pretty funny but when you first hear it, you will think he is in trouble. He needs someone who is home a lot or another pug or small dog to keep him company when his family is not there. He gets along great with other dogs and even cats. Doc is ready to meet his new family with pearly white teeth and lots of love to give.

If you would like to adopt Doc Holliday, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Buddha
Buddha

Buddha came to rescue as an owner surrender. He's a very sweet boy that just wants to be where you are and follows his foster mom everywhere. He's happy to lay by you on the sofa or on the floor at your feet. He gets along with all his foster siblings, all Pugs, and pays no attention when the resident Alpha female, Scarlett is snarky to him. He is working on his house manners, and doesn't tell you when he wants to go out but will usually go potty when you take him out. He has limited vision but that doesn't slow him down. He has no problem going up or down stairs and has no problem getting where he wants to go, whether you want him there or not! He does need cyclosporine daily for his eyes to help him keep what vision he does have and to make him more comfortable.

If you would like to adopt Buddha, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Vincent
Vincent

Vincent is about three years old and was taken to a local shelter to be euthanized. The owner said he just didn't want to "deal" with him anymore. A local rescue group saved him in the nick of time. Vincent had horrible skin issues, flea dermatitis and tested positive for heartworms. He has been neutered and is now current on all of his vaccinations. This little guy is very active and loves to play but he can also calm now and be loved on. Vincent loves every dog he meets and wants to be best friends with them. He is a very small boy at fourteen pounds but such a handsome little fellow. We are working on his coat issues and he will receive heartworm treatment in October. He can escape a baby gate just to be by your side. Vincent is crate trained and can't wait to meet his new family.

If you would like to adopt Vincent, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Pugnelope
Pugnelope

Pugnelope is around three or four years old and was running the streets. She was so scared and would not come to anyone. She had to be tricked with food in order to catch her. Pugnelope was obviously mistreated by humans and was anxious, and very fearful. She is finally starting to relax and will let others approach and pet her. .She has also started to play some but is still a very independent girl. She gets along well with some of the pugs in her foster home but can pick on others. She would do well as an only fur child or with a laid back male. She is very food motivated!! Pugnelope needs a family that not only is dog savvy but has the patience to bring out her inner pug and teach her what love is all about. Pugnelope would do best with no children under ten.

If you would like to adopt Pugnelope, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Muffin
Muffin

Muffin has been adopted and lives with her new family and Pug sister in Davis, OK

Matt
Matt

Matt is a sweet old man. The vet thinks he is at least ten years old. He was abandoned outside of a laundry facility tied to the door. It had rained the night before and poor Matt couldn't get any shelter. We never will understand how people can be so cruel, especially to a sweet senior. Matt gets along well with cats and dogs but can be a bit territorial about food. He gets startled easily and will snap if picked up suddenly. We think it is because he can't hear or see much if any. Most of the time he welcomes being petted, hugged and cuddled. Matt seems happy to be with a family and is pretty content and mellow. He loves to sleep near you in his own bed and does pretty well with his house manners. He does need to be taken out frequently and doesn't really let you know when he needs to go out. He doesn't hear you calling his name so must have a physical connection to get his attention . Matt is a wonderful senior boy and loves everyone he meets. He just wants a home of his own to live out his days in.

If you would like to adopt Matt, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Jillian
Jillian

Jillian is most likely between five and six years old and such a sweetheart. She loves to be your shadow and follow you wherever you go. Jillian needs to see her human at all times and likes to sleep with you. Her tongue sticks out most of the time which just makes her more adorable. Although she loves belly rubs, she is not a big kisser. Jillian does not like to share her food so must be fed separately if other pets are in the home. For this reason she may not be a good candidate for small children who drop their food. Jillian is hoping her new family finds her soon. She is ready and eager to give lots of love to a special family.

If you would like to adopt Jillian, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Hailey and Howard
Hailey and Howard

Hailey and Howard are two sweet seniors that are completely bonded. They are between ten and twelve years old and are absolutely precious. They are smart, well mannered and completely housebroken. Their family could no longer provide for them so they came to us on a six hour transport. The rode like champs, and enjoyed their beds and big chew bones on the way. They are looking for another forever home that will love them as a couple.

Hailey is a petite girl, and loves to be with her human. She is the sweetest girl ever and gets along well with her foster fur siblings, including the kitties.

Howard is around twelve but still young at heart and sweet as can be. He has great house manners and will even wait to be invited on the sofa to lay with you.

If you would like to adopt Hailey and Howard, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Marshmellow
Marshmellow

Marshmellow is another member of the Schnug family. His mommy is Luna, a sweet pug and his daddy is a Schnauzer. Marshmellow took after his daddy and is just adorable. Marshmellow love other dogs and is ready to play at the drop of a hat. He is doing well with his house manners and knows to sit on command for a treat. His little personality seems to combine the mannerisms of both his mommy and daddy. Marshmellow is ready to be someone's new best friend and shower them with love. He is the perfect lap size.

If you would like to adopt Marshmellow, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Buddy
Buddy

Buddy is a very handsome man, and even though he only has one eye that doesn't slow him down. He is no more than two years old and is an extremely loving and friendly little guy. He loves human attention and affection and gets along great with the other pugs in his foster home. Buddy also loves kids and going to the dog park. He just wants to love on everyone, is potty trained and enjoys playing in a kiddie swimming pool. Buddy likes toys, car rides and life in general. Once you meet this boy, you will fall in love! Buddy is ready and eager to meet his new family.

Update: It appears Buddy is unable to see out of what we considered his good eye. He may see some shadows but upon further observation we don't think he sees much if anything. He doesn't know this, so we aren't telling him. He does great and plays and runs just like any other pug. We just need to watch him closer so he doesn't bonk into things that are in his path. Buddy is hoping some wonderful family will look beyond this tiny imperfection that just makes him more special.

If you would like to adopt Buddy, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Olaf

Sven

Meet the Schnugs!! Our sweet pug Luna gave birth on February 26 to eight little Schnugs. Their daddy was a Schnauzer and as you can see they took after daddy but all have curly tails and dark faces. They will get their last shots soon and their neuters and be ready to meet their new families. Please consider giving one a home. They are playful and all very sweet babies.

Sven is the biggest cuddler of the litter. He loves to be held and thrives on attention. Olaf is the biggest character of the litter for sure. He is the largest pup with the biggest personality. Hans was not having anything to do with picture day! He is the smallest boy with a huge heart. He is the perfect blend of playful puppy and cuddle bug.

If you would like to adopt Schnug Family, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Her eye was removed and she feels so much better! Daisy will soon be treated for her heartworms and be ready to give all her love to a forever home in August. Daisy loves all adults and well behaved children over six. She prefers to be the only queen in her castle so she can get all the love and attention she deserves. She loves her humans and wants to be right by their side. Daisy loves to cuddle on the sofa and have her back scratched. She also loves to play with toys. Daisy is fully house trained and knows how to sit on command. She is crate trained and will make a great loving addition to some lucky family.

Daisy
Daisy

Daisy is a special little senior. She is thirteen years old and her family could no longer keep her. She loves her toys and although an older soul, she is very spunky. She loves to cuddle and sleep. She is mostly deaf but she can see enough to follow her human everywhere. Daisy is very loyal and loving and gets along great with her foster fur siblings including the cat. She can be a bit protective over her food and she loves treats. Daisy will need help getting on the bed and sofa and down again but that doesn't slow her down much. Daisy is being treated for heartworms and will be ready to meet her new family in August. Please consider giving this sweet senior a forever home to spend her twilight years in. She is a jewel!

If you would like to adopt Daisy, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Callie
Callie

Callie is between two and four years of age and was in a local shelter. She has a slight limp which could be due to an old injury but it doesn't stop her from running and playing with toys. Her favorite game is playing tug-og-war with her foster family. This little girl loves to cuddle and give kisses. She is housebroken and gets along great with her foster fur siblings. Callie is a sweet and sunny little lady and deserves a great home!! She has lots of love to give some lucky family.

Teddy
Teddy

Teddy is two and a half years old and weighs a walloping 35 pounds. Needless to say we are working on trimming him down. He was surrendered by his family when they no longer could care for him. Just look at that adorable underbite!! Teddy loves all humans, dogs and even the cats. Teddy didn't receive the best of care in his former home and tested positive for heartworms. We will begin treatment in May and he will be ready to meet his forever family in June. Teddy has lots of love to give some lucky family and is eager to start his new life

If you would like to adopt Teddy, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Susie
Susie

Susie is of one of the pugs that came in with ten others from a breeder release. This sweet soul had little or no human contact in her short four years on this earth. Needless to say, she doesn't have much faith in the human race. Her first foster didn't have any other puggie friends for her to learn from. When she came to her second foster's home, she had a pug brother and sister to show her the ropes. She is still very timid with humans but is slowly learning to trust her foster momma and daddy. She tends to like dad more than mom but that is probably because the breeder was a woman and treated her badly. Susie is working on house manners but she was never trained and just lived in a cage in her own waste. She is slowly learning that outside is where to go potty. She will sleep next to daddy all night and never moves from her spot. Susie needs a calm and quiet home with at least one other small dog to give her confidence and show her the rules. Susie most likely will not do well with young children as they will scare her. Puppy mill babies need lots of patience and love but the rewards of helping them are many. Some day Susie will become the pug she was always meant to be and make a wonderful companion. Please give Susie the home she never had but so deserves.

If you would like to adopt Susie, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Baxter
Baxter

Baxter was found wandering the streets of a small town. He is a wonderful little guy and gets along with the other pugs in his foster home. He appears to be housebroken and will go to the door to let you know he needs to go outside. He is around five or six years old. He warmed right up to his foster parents, loves people and is a talker. He seems to love car rides and was the perfect little passenger. Baxter is ready to meet his new family that will always protect and not let him be in harm's way again.

If you would like to adopt Baxter, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

CJ
CJ

CJ is eight years old and came in from a recent breeder release of eleven pugs. He was terrified in his cage and was sure he was going to be mistreated again. He was very shy at first but is warming up quickly and enjoying lots of love and attention. We are working on house training and he is progressing very well. CJ gets along great with the other pugs in is foster home and really needs a fur companion to hang out with in his new home. He likes to sleep on the bed with the other pugs and wants to be near you most of the time. CJ is ready to meet his new family and live the good life.

If you would like to adopt CJ, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Sock
Sock
Sock

Medical HoldSock is seven years old and came into rescue after a recent breeder release. She spent all of her life having puppies. She is a very sweet girl, but very shy as she barely had any human contact in her life prior to coming to us. She grows more self confident and friendly every day and loves to watch her foster fur sisters and brothers interact. She seems to be learning so much from them. She loves to sleep with her human and doesn't much care for her crate but will go in if necessary. Who can blame her! She was crated most of her life. Sock loves to lie on the sofa and watch television, but isn't much of a cuddler yet. Sock continues to grow more trusting of humans everyday and is looking for a forever family that will have lots of patience as she grows into the pug she was always meant to be.

If you would like to adopt Sock, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Joseph
Joseph

Joseph was in a local shelter alone and afraid. He is between six and seven years old and is a sweet and loving fellow. Joseph is shy at first but warms up quickly and enjoys cuddling in an empty lap or laying on your chest or by your side for his naps. He enjoys playing with his foster fur siblings as well as his humans. Joseph loves to run in the backyard and chase squirrels. He is coming along nicely on his house training as long as he is taken out frequently until we learn his schedule. Joseph is crate trained and hoping to be in his forever home soon so he can start his new life with a loving family.

If you would like to adopt Joseph, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Duncan
Duncan

Duncan is one of our adorable seniors. He is a sweet old guy who has a secret adventurous side. Like most pugs, he very much enjoys his naps. However, when he is awake, he likes to explore the house, follow his human, look out the windows and find new napping spots. He also makes silly dinosaur sounds when the mood strikes him. He had a dental and prefers soft treats as they are easier to chew. Like a typical pug, Duncan gets very excited at meal time but stays in his own bowl and doesn't try to steal his foster brother's food. Duncan loves to be right with you but needs help getting there and on your bed where he prefers to sleep. Duncan is hoping some family will see how special he is and give him a forever home to spend his twilight years in. He is such an easy keeper and has lots of love left to give.

If you would like to adopt Duncan, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Magoo
Magoo

Psst!! Over here. Aren't I the cutest thing ever? My name is Magoo and the vet thinks I am around ten years old. I'm okay with that. Age is just a number after all, right! I am living with my foster mom who gives me lots of kisses, belly rubs and massages. I am pretty sure I died and went to heaven. I wish I could live with her forever but the vet thinks I need a home with no stairs cuz I am blind. Don't think for a minute that stops me from being where I want to be. Nope! This old nose still works very well thank you and I can find my way around just fine. I'm a little worried that no one will want me cuz of this minor challenge but my foster mom tells me that there is someone special out there who is looking for me to come live with them. I think that is pretty cool, as I sure would like a forever home. Then my foster mom could help another old man like me. Are you that special person who will love me forever? I come with lots of love, kisses and snores. Gotta run, my foster mom just brought me my favorite treat! What are you waiting for? Put in your application and don't forget to ask for Tripp. I will be waiting for you!!

If you would like to adopt Magoo, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Tripp
Tripp

Tripp is a sweet senior bug (pug/boston). He was in a local shelter and his family never came for him. Just look at that adorable grey face!! He wants to be right my your side at all times. His daily activity includes sleep, eat and potty time. Tripp has pretty good house skills and will take care of business each time he goes out. Tripp is not a big fan of cats but gets along great with his foster pug brother. We don't think he hears very well but that just makes him a really sound sleeper. Overall, Tripp is a happy guy who is devoted to his human. Please give him another chance at a forever home to spend his retirement years in.

If you would like to adopt Tripp, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Humphrey
Humphrey

Medical Hold - Humphrey was rescued from a local shelter and is around six years old. He loves to be with his human, and is a total Velcro pug. If you are standing he will sit on your feet. Humphrey has some ear and equilibrium issues that we are working on. He is absolutely adorable and loves everyone. Humphrey gets along great with all the dogs in his foster home and doesn't have one ounce of grumpy in him. He is sheer sweetness. If you would like to adopt Humphrey, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Marilyn
Marilyn

Marilyn is 13 and was surrendered by her family. The new baby made her nervous but Marilyn is as sweet as can be. She loves to follow you around and although she is a big girl she doesn't mind being in your lap. Marilyn is on a diet to regain her girlish figure so measuring her food intake is a must. She is a laid back girl but has moments when she will play with a toy, although she loses interest fast. She knows how to use a dog door and loves to sleep with her human if she can. It is hard to lose your family after 11 years but she has adjusted well and is hoping there is someone out there that would love to give this sweet senior a forever home. She is a very easy keeper but you must go out with her when she needs to potty. She doesn't like to be alone. Marilyn would prefer to be the only queen in her castle.

If you would like to adopt Marilyn, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Frank
Frank

Frank has been adopted and lives with his new mommy in OKC, OK

Ethel
Ethel

Ethel is a sweet senior that was a stray in a local shelter. When she came in to the shelter, she appeared okay but by the time she spent her three day hold and we got her out, she could barely stand. We rushed her to our vet and they thought she was in kidney failure. After extensive blood work it was determined Ethel is diabetic and was close to death because she wouldn't eat and had no insulin for several days. She was given fluids and insulin and her blood sugar started to regulate. Ethel will need insulin twice a day but that is very easy to administer. She is blind due to her diabetes but gets around great. How cruel it is to leave an elderly blind pug out on her own to die. Ethel is now happy and doing great in her foster home. Ethel is hoping some kind family will see the love in her eyes and the hope that she will find a forever home that will love her. Adopting a senior is the essence of rescue. Please give this sweet girl another chance at the wonderful life she so deserves.

If you would like to adopt Ethel, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Eddie
Eddie

Eddie was surrendered by his family. He has some allergy issues and his family no longer had time to tend to his needs. He does take daily eye drops and although on meds right now, he is not scratching and his coat is nice and shiny and healthy. Eddie is very active for a seven year old. He loves to chase a ball and if a ball isn't available he will chase anything you toss. If his ball gets under the furniture he will let you know to go retrieve it. Eddie will keep you amused for hours. He is very sweet and lovable and gets along great with the other pugs in his foster home. Eddie loves to snuggle next to you at night and sleep with his human. Eddie can't wait to meet his new family.

If you would like to adopt Eddie, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Sunshine
Sunshine
Sunshine

Medical Hold - Sunshine is one of three pugs and a mix seized due to deplorable conditions. She had to stay for over three months in a shelter before being able to be released to us. Sunshine is ten years old and as you can see has not missed a meal. It might not have been very good food but somehow she got more than her share. Needless to say she is on a diet to regain her girlish figure. She had a bad ear infection and a permanent head tilt along with being weak in the rear end. She is such a sweet girl and so deserving of a wonderful home of her home. If you meet Sunshine she will steal your heart.

If you would like to adopt Sunshine, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Dakota
Dakota

Dakota is around eight years old and was surrendered by his owner. This sweet senior spent his entire life in a garage. Because of neglect, he has dry eye and will need drops in his eyes forever. The drops are no big deal and easy to administer. Dakota sees very little but we think he sees shadows. Even with his limited vision, he navigates the house and yard really well once he gets his bearings. Dakota is a sweet boy who is deserving to spend his twilight years in a loving home.

If you would like to adopt Dakota, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Snookie
Snookie

Snookie

Snookie was a stray that was rescued from a small town in OK. We thought she had been hit by a car but it appears she has one bad knee that makes her walk a bit "funny". Snookie takes drops for dry eye and her vision isn't that great but she navigates around the house and yard very well. She is a sweet girl that loves to hang out and sleep with her human. Snookie gets along great with her foster pug brothers and sisters and is a loving girl. She may not be the prettiest pug on the planet but she has a beautiful spirit and is such a sweetheart. Snookie can't wait to meet her new family!

If you would like to adopt Snookie, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Sammie
Sammie

Sammie is a handsome seven year old boy. He takes medication twice a day to control seizures. If he stays on his meds he is seizure free. Sammie was with us for almost a year and then was adopted. We thought we had found the perfect home for him but that wasn't the case. He was recently returned to us for no reason of his own. Sammie is one of the sweetest, most gentle boys we have ever had. He loves to be next to you on the sofa and he loves to give kisses. He is so deserving of a family of his own to love and we can't understand why he is back. Sammie just had a dental. He had some infected teeth and feels so much better and his kisses no longer knock you over. Sammie needs a quiet and peaceful environment to call his own and a family that will never turn their back on him again and will love him forever.

If you would like to adopt Sammie, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.
