ImportantJust a few words about our babies. We will no longer adopt to families with a big dog either outside or inside. Too many of our pugs have been either injured or killed by large dogs that have gotten along with them for years. We simply can not take that chance any longer. If you have any questions, contact us for more information.

Adoption Fees

Adoption fees are: 300.00 up to 3 years
275.00 3 years up to 6 years
250.00 7 years to 9 years
(fee can vary depending on age and health conditions)

The fee will be discussed during the application period. The fee is in place to cover the costs of vaccination, spay or neuter, heartworm testing and to treat other medical issues.

Pearl
Pearl

Pearl is a little treasure, from her floppy black ears to her perfect cinnamon bun tail. We are not sure exactly where she came from, only that she was dropped off in a rural area. She appears to be between three and five years old. Pearl was obviously well trained by someone since she knows to go potty outside and she is really good about going into her crate. She protests a bit at first, but settles down quickly. She also knows to ask for permission before jumping up to sit next to you on a couch or chair. Pearl loves cuddling right up against her person before settling into a deep, snore-filled sleep. Pearl can be a little snappy if you sneak up on her, or if playing with another dog that is high spirited, so she should probably not be around young kids or other energetic dogs. But 99 percent of the time, Pearl is lover, not a fighter. She loves chasing her tail, catching treats, and going on long walks . Unfortunately Pearl tested positive for heartworms and will start treatment in October. After that she will be spayed and ready to find her own family to love.

If you would like to adopt Pearl, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

JoJo
JoJo

JoJo was in a local shelter and is the sweetest girl ever! She is between six and eight years old and loves life. JoJo has a broken jaw that was never fixed and we don't know what happened. It doesn't stop her from eating and can't be repaired. Because of this, she never closes her mouth. She is a happy girl, always wagging her little tail and loves attention. She gets along great with her foster fur siblings and is a complete joy to be around. JoJo doesn't mind a crate but does very well in the house uncrated as well. She has an accident at times but is coming along great with her house training. JoJo can't wait to start her new life as a pampered princess.

If you would like to adopt JoJo, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Cooper
Cooper

Cooper was rescued from a puppy mill just days before his 5th birthday. He was used as breeder and kept in an outside pen. He is shy at first but is now realizing most humans just want to love him as much as he wants to be loved. Cooper is a true love bug! He loves sitting on your lap or next to you and being your shadow. He does well in his crate and sometimes goes in just to get some peace and quiet from the four year old child in his foster home.. He is very patient and kind to kids and would also love to be friends with the cat, but she prefers to ignore Cooper. He gets along great with other dogs and has come a long way! He wears a belly band in the house just as a precaution (many times I forget to put it back on) and he seldom has an accident. Cooper can't wait to meet his new family and start a life filled with love.

If you would like to adopt Cooper, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Lyndi
Lyndi

Lyndi is Lizzie's sister and is a bit more independent. She is a petite girl between the ages of three and five we believe. She loves to play with her toys and cuddle at your feet. Lyndi absolutely adores children and will pick them over an adult to sleep with. She can be a little rambunctious when you first get up in the morning so that she can have her breakfast. Lyndi is house trained, however she is a marker and may need some girl panties for a few days until she learns her manners and the house rules. She does love having her four legged friends around and will need a fur buddy to keep her company in her new home. She runs the yard with her "friends" until she is sure everything is secure. She can be ornery and may jump up on the bed or sofa and then decide it's too high for her to jump down. She will sit and cry until you safely lower her to the ground. Lyndi loves going for walks and car rides and will make some lucky family a wonderful new addition.

If you would like to adopt Lyndi, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Lizzie
Lizzie

Lizzie is as sweet as they come. She appears to be between three and five years old and is still learning to accept human kindness. She is very timid and scared with strangers. She is very comfortable with her foster mom and fur friends and is house trained. She sleeps with her foster mom every night and although she likes kids, she prefers the company of adults. She can be a bit pushy at times when selecting her place in bed and will walk on your head or push your face around until you lift the covers and let her snuggle under your arm. She can be playful at times, but prefers to be with her foster mom. She will definitely let you know when it is time for breakfast and time to go to bed. She doesn't like a crate but will tolerate one but she will cry for a bit Lizzie is an amazing little girl and will make you smile with her vampire teeth!! She deserves the perfect home.

If you would like to adopt Lizzie, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

She is very affectionate and loves to cuddle and give hugs when you hold her! Chloe does have some senior health issues. We think she sees shadows but that is all. She does require drops at least twice a day. She gets around extremely well, once she knows her surroundings. Chloe has back end issues and doesn't know when she needs to go potty so would require a home with someone home most of the day. Because of her issues, she needs a family that is patient and gentle with her. She is a special lady that has so much to offer to a special loving family. Please consider giving this precious pug a wonderful rest of her life!

She is a very petite girl who gets along with other dogs but prefers to get all the attention and be close to her human at all times. She is good in the house but needs to be watched closely to be sure she gets out when she needs to. Nana's back legs are weak so she can't jump up on things. Rosie
Rosie

Rosie was left in a box inside a small rescue in Arkansas. She was dumped on a busy highway and a good Samaritan put her in a box and placed her inside the gate of the rescue. You see Rosie is blind so she didn't move out of that box. She was also terrified and waited for someone to help her. She was so very shy at first and still is wary of strangers and touch. But she is learning to be a true pug and will now zoom around the yard and be silly. It is such a joy to see her like this!! Rosie doesn't know she is blind so she just goes on acting as though she has sight. I do think she might see shadows as she rarely bumps into anything. Rosie has touched many hearts and we are looking for a very very special home for her. The perfect family will be patient, loving, kind and treat Rosie like a princess. Our little apricot pug in a box, deserves nothing but the best in life.

If you would like to adopt Rosie, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Angel
Angel

Hi, my name is Angel, I'm around 10 years old but we pugs are not great at counting so I could be off a year or two. I just had a dental and now my teeth are sparkling clean. . I still love eating hard and soft food . I have a bad back hip so I do not do stairs really well and I don't move very fast but I love spending time in the yard smelling new smells and following the chickens around. I'm not extremely active and love lying around on my bed. I like playing with my foster brothers and sisters and get along with them great. It is better if I eat alone because sometimes I think they want to take my food. I do have accidents in the house sometimes, mainly of the stinky type, but my foster parents say they are very easy to clean up. With my age sometimes I just can't hold it. Overall I am in good health and I can't wait to find my forever home as I still have a lot of love to give.

If you would like to adopt Angel, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Ike is a very handsome lad around five years old. He had been living outside most of his life sometimes without food or water. He loves to play with his people and his foster fur sisters and brothers. He likes to go for car rides and walks and even gets along with the kitties. Ike is such a clown and cracks his foster family up all the time. He has no problem going into his crate and when called he will go right to it. Ike has great house manners but he does need to wear a belly band when he sleeps as he has a birth defect that causes him to "leak" a little when he sleeps for long periods of time. You see although Ike was listed as a boy he also had female organs and had to have reconstructive surgery. He now urinates like a girl and is doing quite well. His foster mom says this is no big deal and he doesn't leak during the day when out and about. Ike is lots of fun and is eager to meet his forever family!

Sock
Sock
Sock

Sock is seven years old and came into rescue after a recent breeder release. She spent all of her life having puppies. She is a very sweet girl, but very shy as she barely had any human contact in her life prior to coming to us. She grows more self confident and friendly every day and loves to watch her foster fur sisters and brothers interact. She seems to be learning so much from them. She loves to sleep with her human and doesn't much care for her crate but will go in if necessary. Who can blame her! She was crated most of her life. Sock loves to lie on the sofa and watch television, but isn't much of a cuddler yet. Sock continues to grow more trusting of humans everyday and is looking for a forever family that will have lots of patience as she grows into the pug she was always meant to be.

If you would like to adopt Sock, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Marilyn

Marilyn is 13 and was surrendered by her family. The new baby made her nervous but Marilyn is as sweet as can be. She loves to follow you around and although she is a big girl she doesn't mind being in your lap. Marilyn is on a diet to regain her girlish figure so measuring her food intake is a must. She is a laid back girl but has moments when she will play with a toy, although she loses interest fast. She knows how to use a dog door and loves to sleep with her human if she can. It is hard to lose your family after 11 years but she has adjusted well and is hoping there is someone out there that would love to give this sweet senior a forever home. She is a very easy keeper but you must go out with her when she needs to potty. She doesn't like to be alone. Marilyn would prefer to be the only queen in her castle.

If you would like to adopt Marilyn, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

He loves to be next to you on the sofa and he loves to give kisses. He is so deserving of a family of his own to love and we can't understand why he is back. Sammie just had a dental. He had some infected teeth and feels so much better and his kisses no longer knock you over. Sammie needs a quiet and peaceful environment to call his own and a family that will never turn their back on him again and will love him forever.
