ImportantJust a few words about our babies. We will no longer adopt to families with a big dog either outside or inside. Too many of our pugs have been either injured or killed by large dogs that have gotten along with them for years. We simply can not take that chance any longer. If you have any questions, contact us for more information.

Adoption Fees

Adoption fees range from $200.00 to $300.00 depending on the age and health of the Pug. The fee will be discussed during the application period. The fee is in place to cover the costs of vaccination, spay or neuter, heartworm testing and to treat other medical issues.

Boss Hogg
Boss Hogg

Boss Hogg is a handsome big boy at 24.5 pounds. He will be two in February and is very shy. He will run from you until he feels comfortable and then will be your best friend. He has had former trauma to his eyes and has PK which will require eye drops a couple of times a day. Other than that he is a healthy guy with lots of love to give. He likes nylabones and squeaky toys and gets along great with all of his foster fur brothers and sisters. He is used to having lots of doggie friends and really needs a buddy to hang out with when his family is not home. Boss is ready to meet his new family and start his wonderful new life.

If you would like to adopt Boss Hogg, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Eve
Eve

Eve is about 5 years old and was rescued from a shelter. She loves to follow her foster mom all over the place and keep her in her sight. She likes to cuddle in your lap and arms and get belly and neck rubs from you. She also thoroughly enjoys running in the yard with her foster brother and sister pugs and cuddling with them. Eve has dry eyes and requires eye drops twice a day. We are working on house breaking and she does well if taken out on a regular schedule but does not know how to ask to go out. Eve is very smart and can easily figure out how to get up to places she wants to go. She will get upset if another pug approaches her food bowl when eating. She's a very quiet sleeper and loves to give you kisses and eat green beans. Eve can't wait to meet her new family.

If you would like to adopt Eve, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Mugsy
Mugsy

Mugsy is a sweet boy between five and seven years old. He has good house manners and is just a wonderful little guy. His under bite cracks me up. He does like to play with stuffed animals, but his favorite "toy" is a dog bed which he will drag around the floor even if a pug is in it! He gets along great with all the other pugs in his foster home and loves to be with his human and sleep with his person. Mugsy is a gentle boy and would do best in a home with children over six. He doesn't like a lot commotion and will make some lucky family the perfect new addition. Please consider this boy if you are looking for the sweetest pug ever to give a loving home to.

If you would like to adopt Mugsy, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

BJ and Daphne
BJ and Daphne

BJ and Daphne are a bonded pair and must be placed together. BJ is between five and six and Daphne is between six and seven years old. They don't leave each other's side. They have a bit of food aggression quickly remedied by not eating close together. Daphne eats very slowly one nugget at a time which is highly unusual for a pug. They need to be supervised during meal times so BJ doesn't steal Daphne's food. Daphne does like to have her own way and gets a bit miffed about her toys if BJ gets too close. They are both terrified of big dogs and will sit on the back of furniture to get away from them. They are both house trained and follow you everywhere. BJ and Daphne love to sleep in bed with their foster mom and are little shadows. These two are so very sweet and loving and will make some lucky family an excellent addition.

If you would like to adopt BJ and Daphne, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Houdini
Houdini

Houdini was thrown out of a moving vehicle in the country. He is between three and five years old and a complete sweetheart. He loves to play and gets along great with all of his foster fur siblings. Unfortunately he was diagnosed with early cataracts. Because of this his sight is not very good. We are going to look into cataract surgery, but it is very expensive so he may need help with the cost. We want to be able to restore vision if at all possible. He is too young to go blind. Please consider helping this little guy gain his sight back. He deserves a much better life than what he had.

If you would like to adopt Houdini, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Leo
Leo

Leo was abandoned by his family at a shelter. He is between five and seven years old and loves life. But he is clinically blind. He may see a few shadows but that is all. He does very well in the yard and house but needs another pug to help be his eyes. He learns quickly and mastered the dog door in just one day. He responds to clapping and will find you by sound and smell. Leo loves to explore his surroundings and is very playful and cuddly. He loves toys, snuggles and running in his foster mom's yard. Don't let his blindness keep you from adopting this sweet boy. Blind dogs rock!! Leo hopes a special family sees how awesome he is and gives him a loving home that will care and love him forever.

If you would like to adopt Leo, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Bronx
Bronx

Bronx is nine years old and an absolute dream pug to have in your life. He has had no accidents in his foster home and he loves to follow his foster dad everywhere and claims his lap as soon as he sits down. He gets along with other animals and the previous owner had cats. He loves car rides and all he needs is a loving home with toys and a place that he can call his own. He doesn't mind a crate and if the door is left open, he will go in freely for a nap. Bronx weighed over thirty pounds when he came into rescue and has to continue on his weight control plan with grain free food. He also doesn't tolerate heat well and probably less than most pugs because of his weight. Bronx can't wait to meet his new family and start his wonderful new life as a pampered senior.

If you would like to adopt Bronx, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Piper
Piper

Piper lived with Ouija and we just had to take them both. She is seven years old and had some skin issues and goopy eye. We thought she could be pregnant so did an ultrasound and found out she had a deformed kidney or a growth. She went home and came back when she started feeling badly. We did emergency surgery to see what was going on and it turns out there was a growth on her spleen that could be a cancerous tumor but as it turns out she had a benign growth and should be fine. We are so happy that she can now have the life she deserves. Piper is very sweet, loving and laid back with humans but it appears she has jealousy issues if there are other dogs around her person. For this reason we feel that she needs to be the only fur child in the home. Because of her size she should not be placed in a home with toddlers or children under seven. If you have been considering an English Bulldog, you won't find a sweeter one than our girl Piper.

If you would like to adopt Piper, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Teddy
Teddy

Every year we seem to have a little miracle pug come into rescue. Teddy is this year's. Teddy is eight years old and was dumped in a shelter by his family. Teddy had severe back end issues and could barely walk. He would drag himself around and at times get up and wobbly walk. I was told that he was incontinent and would dribble all over you, that he most likely has a spinal injury and would never get better. Welllllll guess what!! Teddy didn't read that memo. Each day I saw him getting a big stronger and more determined to walk. Bit by bit I saw improvement in his ability to get up and gain motor control. Many times he expresses his own bladder and when he doesn't I do. This is not difficult and he does not pee on me. Teddy is the sweetest guy on the planet and loves to grab a toy and hang out with his human. He is a happy boy that doesn't let anything get in the way of him getting where he wants to go. The other day several pugs were having a rousing game of chase and there was Teddy bringing up the rear running after the rest. A strange little run perhaps but he was indeed running. This boy with the gentle spirit is so worthy of a loving home of his own. This story would have the happiest of endings if a special family would consider opening their home and heart to this year's miracle.

If you would like to adopt Teddy, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Pepe is eight years old and full of spunk. He zips around the house and yard like a three old and is such a sweet boy. He is housebroken and is learning the dog door. Belle Starr

Belle Starr is a sweetheart through and through. She is a approximately seven years old and was mistreated for most of her life. She is learning how to love and be loved. When she first came to us, she was so scared she hid in her crate all day. Now, she loves to follow us around the house and be petted. She sleeps just fine in her crate. She isn't quite house-trained, but she mostly goes on the newspapers. She is terrified of going outside, so we're working on that. She gets along fine with other dogs, although she is scared of people she doesn't know. Belle is a pretty little girl with an adorable underbite smile and would do best in a patient, quiet home. She'll take some time to warm up to you, but once she does Belle Starr will steal your heart.

If you would like to adopt Belle Starr, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Cookie

Cookie came in with two others and was used all of her seven years for breeding. She is dangerously overweight but has lost some pounds all ready just by feeding good food and monitoring portions. She is a sweet girl and gets along great with her foster sisters. She is hoping a loving family will adopt her and let her be the pug she was always meant to be. Ren

Ren came in with fifteen others from a breeder. He is the daddy to the five puppies we rescued and is only three years old. Ren gets along well with his pug sisters and brothers. He is timid with humans. He wants attention but he wants it at his pace. He does not like his kennel or to be gated. He sleeps with his humans well. We are working on his house manners and he is doing very well. He is a climber. He will climb a baby gate. He is learning what human love is. He is also learning to go in the car that still scares him a lot that he is very nervous. He does love puppy whip from Starbucks so maybe that will help with traveling. He is a sweet boy who is looking for a family to love.

If you would like to adopt Ren, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Flora
Flora

Flora may be eleven years old, but you would never know it. She likes to run and play outside and does the "pug dance" like a two year old. After her dental she only has a few teeth left so will need soft food mixed with very small kibble. Flora is a very sweet girl and loves to be loved on. She gets along very well with all the other pugs and has only had one accident in the house. She actually has excellent manners, and loves all the doggie beds. I never know which bed I will find her in. Please consider giving this sweet senior a home to call her own and live the rest of her life in.

If you would like to adopt Flora, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Pugsley
Pugsley

Pugsley is a cute ten year old teddy bear of a boy who will melt your heart! He loves belly rubs and his daily back scratches! Pugsley enjoys watching tv with you and will let you know when he wants something by his gentle deep yelp. He tolerates his foster fur brothers and sisters, but would do best in a home where he is the sole fur baby. He loves being man's best friend and will follow his foster dad everywhere. He can be stubborn at times but has a very loving heart. His smile washes away any troubles you might have and he is so full of love! Pugsley has excellent house manners. His knees aren't so great so he needs help up and down off the sofa or your lap. He is hoping some loving family has room in their heart for our big teddy bear of a boy.

If you would like to adopt Pugsley, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Peanut is seven years old and has been having puppies all her life. When she came to us she was over 32 pounds and is now down to less than thirty. She continues to lose and will soon have her pretty puggy figure back. Peanut was never socialized so is learning what being a pug is all about. She is starting to look at toys but not sure what to do with them. She does love nylabones and balls! The longer she is with us, the bigger lover she becomes. Peanut loves attention but is still pretty shy with people she doesn't know. She is learning from her foster fur siblings that being petted is a good thing. She is doing well on her house manners and is great going into a crate. Peanut is hoping for a forever family to love who will have the patience to continue to work with her and give her all the love she deserves.

If you would like to adopt Peanut, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Lady
Lady

Lady is a beautiful senior girl that is looking for her forever home. She is probably close to ten years old and such a sweetheart. Because no one took care of her eyes, she is blind and requires drops twice a day to keep her eyes moist. She gets along great and most people would not know she can't see. She has even figured out the dog door in her foster home. Lady will still play now and then and loves to cuddle. She gets along great with all her foster siblings and is too precious for words. She is on a diet to get her girlish figure back and has already lost a couple of pounds. Our seniors are frequently passed over but they are the ones that need a home the most to spend their twilight years in. Please consider giving this sweet girl a home to call her own.

If you would like to adopt Lady, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Gilligan
Gilligan

Gilligan is an adorable 14 year old boy. When he came into rescue he literally had hundreds of fleas on him. He was left in the yard with no food when his family moved. He is deaf and blind although he might see some shadows. He is a very unusual brindle color and a sweet old man. You would never guess his age by his actions. Gilligan loves to nibble on you and lick your arm. He even will play with a toy now and then! He is deaf and can't see much but that doesn't stop our senior bundle of energy. He is quite the character and will keep you entertained. He still needs to gain some weight but other than that is healthy and happy. Gilligan does great with his foster fur brothers and sisters and hopes a family will consider giving an old man a loving home to spend his twilight years in.

Wrinkles
Wrinkles

Wrinkles is a handsome six year old that was about to be euthanized because he was diagnosed with Diabetes. We dispatched one of our volunteers in the nick of time and he is now in rescue waiting for a loving family to find him. Wrinkles is on insulin which is so easy to administer and he is doing great. Oh yes, Wrinkles is also blind. I almost forgot, since he navigates the house and yard so well. He just learned the dog door and now thinks he is quite the smarty pants. Wrinkles is such a sweet guy and gets along great with his foster fur siblings. He is completely housebroken unless you don't notice him by the door or hear his soft little cries to go out. He loves to be close to you and when you sit down he likes to be lifted up on the sofa so he can fall asleep with his gentle snores. Wrinkles gets hot easy so a cool house is a must. He is on a bit of a diet to shed a few pounds but he is a bigger boy which means there is just more of him to love. Small children might startle him, but well behaved children over six should be fine. Please give this sweet boy another chance for a loving family.

If you would like to adopt Wrinkles, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Hailey and Howard
Hailey and Howard

Hailey and Howard are two sweet seniors that are completely bonded. They are between ten and twelve years old and are absolutely precious. They are smart, well mannered and completely housebroken. Their family could no longer provide for them so they came to us on a six hour transport. The rode like champs, and enjoyed their beds and big chew bones on the way. They are looking for another forever home that will love them as a couple.

Hailey is a petite girl, and loves to be with her human. She is the sweetest girl ever and gets along well with her foster fur siblings, including the kitties.

Howard is around twelve but still young at heart and sweet as can be. He has great house manners and will even wait to be invited on the sofa to lay with you.

If you would like to adopt Hailey and Howard, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Sock
Sock
Sock

Medical HoldSock is seven years old and came into rescue after a recent breeder release. She spent all of her life having puppies. She is a very sweet girl, but very shy as she barely had any human contact in her life prior to coming to us. She grows more self confident and friendly every day and loves to watch her foster fur sisters and brothers interact. She seems to be learning so much from them. She loves to sleep with her human and doesn't much care for her crate but will go in if necessary. Who can blame her! She was crated most of her life. Sock loves to lie on the sofa and watch television, but isn't much of a cuddler yet. Sock continues to grow more trusting of humans everyday and is looking for a forever family that will have lots of patience as she grows into the pug she was always meant to be.

If you would like to adopt Sock, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Marilyn
Marilyn

Marilyn is 13 and was surrendered by her family. The new baby made her nervous but Marilyn is as sweet as can be. She loves to follow you around and although she is a big girl she doesn't mind being in your lap. Marilyn is on a diet to regain her girlish figure so measuring her food intake is a must. She is a laid back girl but has moments when she will play with a toy, although she loses interest fast. She knows how to use a dog door and loves to sleep with her human if she can. It is hard to lose your family after 11 years but she has adjusted well and is hoping there is someone out there that would love to give this sweet senior a forever home. She is a very easy keeper but you must go out with her when she needs to potty. She doesn't like to be alone. Marilyn would prefer to be the only queen in her castle.

If you would like to adopt Marilyn, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Dakota
Dakota

Dakota is around ten years old and was surrendered by his owner. This sweet senior spent his entire life in a garage. Because of neglect, he has dry eye and will need drops in his eyes forever. The drops are no big deal and easy to administer. Dakota sees very little but we think he sees shadows. Even with his limited vision, he navigates the house and yard really well once he gets his bearings. Dakota is a sweet boy who is deserving to spend his twilight years in a loving home.

If you would like to adopt Dakota, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Sammie
Sammie

Sammie is a handsome eight year old boy. He takes medication twice a day to control seizures. If he stays on his meds he is seizure free. Sammie was with us for almost a year and then was adopted. We thought we had found the perfect home for him but that wasn't the case. He was recently returned to us for no reason of his own. Sammie is one of the sweetest, most gentle boys we have ever had. He loves to be next to you on the sofa and he loves to give kisses. He is so deserving of a family of his own to love and we can't understand why he is back. Sammie just had a dental. He had some infected teeth and feels so much better and his kisses no longer knock you over. Sammie needs a quiet and peaceful environment to call his own and a family that will never turn their back on him again and will love him forever.

If you would like to adopt Sammie, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.
