ImportantJust a few words about our babies. We will no longer adopt to families with a big dog either outside or inside. Too many of our pugs have been either injured or killed by large dogs that have gotten along with them for years. We simply can not take that chance any longer. If you have any questions, contact us for more information.

Adoption Fees

Adoption fees are: 300.00 up to 3 years
275.00 3 years up to 6 years
250.00 7 years to 9 years
(fee can vary depending on age and health conditions)

The fee will be discussed during the application period. The fee is in place to cover the costs of vaccination, spay or neuter, heartworm testing and to treat other medical issues.

Bertie
Bertie

Bertie was in a local shelter with Finnigan. She is a full figured girl between the ages of three and four. She is a sweet girl and is learning to play with toys. Bertie gets along great with her fur foster siblings. She loves to sleep in and doesn't much like to go outside early in the morning. She does well inside and has not been crated. She needs a family who will give her unconditional love and keep her on her diet plan. Bertie is extremely over weight at 30+ pounds!! She will feel much more energetic when she is at least five pounds lighter. If you have been looking for a young female pug to love Bertie might be the perfect choice. She can't wait to meet her new family and start her new life.

If you would like to adopt Bertie, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Agnes Faye
Agnes Faye

Agnes Faye is a sweet senior between the ages of 8 and 10. She loves everyone, with or without fur. She had a lot of problems when she first came into rescue but is doing well now. She has a tongue that protrudes and she requires soft food , but is no longer on any kind of medicine. She would love being someone's cuddle buddy.

Pujo
Pujo

Pujo is a sweet four year old that could no longer stay with his family. He is shy at first around people and other dogs but his inner pug is beginning to come out. Pujo is a very handsome man and knows how to sit, shake hands, lie down and roll over. He is good with well behaved kids, and although shy, gets along great with his foster fur siblings. Pujo seems to prefer a quiet home. Pujo is hoping his new family finds him soon so he can start his wonderful new home with a family that will love him forever. If you have been looking for a sweet pug boy to love, Pujo might be the perfect fit.

If you would like to adopt Pujo, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Gracie
Gracie

Gracie is between six and eight years old and has very limited vision. She may see some shadows, but that is about it. Gracie is housebroken and although she will go in a crate, she doesn't like them much but once inside her crate, she does well. Gracie enjoys her fur foster siblings, but does NOT like them in her face. Blind dogs frequently have a problem with another dog in their space as they can't see them and it triggers a response. She is an alpha girl and will do best as an only fur child or with a very laid back male. Gracie wants to be around her person at all times. She will come to wherever her person is and sit or lay down while they work. She likes to sleep with her human and loves nylabones and stuffed toys. She likes to play with the toys but also likes to lie on top of them. When tired, she will suck one of her toys and go to sleep. Like most pugs, Gracie loves to eat and likes her yogurt and pumpkin with her dinner. She is a good girl and needs a home that is calm and peaceful. Because of her limited sight, she will not do well with small children. Gracie needs another chance at a forever home and is eager to meet her new family.

If you would like to adopt Gracie, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Lyrik
Lyrik

Lyrik is an adorable little guy that will turn two in February. He is very shy and needs a fur buddy to give him confidence and hang out with when his family is not home. He does have PK which will require eye drops at least twice a day for the rest of his life. Lyrik loves toys and nylabones and is getting more relaxed and confident with each passing day. He needs a home that will not be chaotic and will give him time for him to find his inner pug. Lyrik is sweet as can be and is looking forward to starting his new life with a loving family.

If you would like to adopt Lyrik, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Truck
Truck

Truck is a very handsome five year old. He is very fearful and shy around humans until he trusts you. Once you gain his trust he is a complete snuggle bug. He will literally crawl up your chest and hang on. He loves to lay with his human when he feels comfortable. Truck needs another pug buddy to give him confidence and hang out with when his humans aren't home. He is a very sweet and gentle soul and needs a home that is calm and peaceful. Truck doesn't like a lot of commotion and will run outside if anyone yells. Truck will need eye drops administered two or three times a day every day for his one eye. His forever family needs to have patience as he learns to trust and relax. Once he feels comfortable, he is going to make some lucky family a very very loving addition.

If you would like to adopt Truck, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Savannah and T-Bone
Savannah and T-Bone

Savannah and T-Bone are a precious pair of 12 year olds. Savannah had a bladder stone when she came to us and it is now removed and she is feeling so much better. She is blind but gets along great navigating the house and yard. She loves to cuddle and is very sweet. T-Bone is deaf and very vocal. He loves to bark his commands to you and is always wagging his tail. T-Bone is such a happy guy and will make you laugh. He always has that tongue out and loves to be close by his humans. This adorable pair deserves to spend their twilight years in a loving home. They are just a joy to have around and can't wait to meet their new family

If you would like to adopt Savannah and T-Bone, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

KiKi
KiKi

KiKi is three or four years old and has a wonderful personality. She is playful with her foster sister's dogs and cat. We are told she is the perfect houseguest. She sleeps and eats in her kennel if necessary. KiKi has what is called a micro eye so she is vision impaired in her left eye. She does get startled if she doesn't see you approach on that side. She prefers you to talk to her first so she knows you are there. She is extremely sweet and has such great manners. KiKi does need allergy medication every day and we are still working on clearing up her ears. They were red, inflamed and swollen when she first arrived but are so much better now. Because she is vision impaired and her ears can be tender, we won't place her in a home with children under eight years old. She loves to be with people but is also happy laying on her dog bed. KiKi will make some lucky family a wonderful new member.

If you would like to adopt KiKi, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

He likes nylabones and squeaky toys and gets along great with all of his foster fur brothers and sisters. Mugsy

Mugsy is a sweet boy between five and seven years old. He has good house manners and is just a wonderful little guy. His under bite cracks me up. He does like to play with stuffed animals, but his favorite "toy" is a dog bed which he will drag around the floor even if a pug is in it! He gets along great with all the other pugs in his foster home and loves to be with his human and sleep with his person. Mugsy is a gentle boy and would do best in a home with children over six. He doesn't like a lot commotion and will make some lucky family the perfect new addition. Please consider this boy if you are looking for the sweetest pug ever to give a loving home to.

If you would like to adopt Mugsy, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

BJ and Daphne
BJ and Daphne

BJ and Daphne are a bonded pair and must be placed together. BJ is between five and six and Daphne is between six and seven years old. They don't leave each other's side. They have a bit of food aggression quickly remedied by not eating close together. Daphne eats very slowly one nugget at a time which is highly unusual for a pug. They need to be supervised during meal times so BJ doesn't steal Daphne's food. Daphne does like to have her own way and gets a bit miffed about her toys if BJ gets too close. They are both terrified of big dogs and will sit on the back of furniture to get away from them. They are both house trained and follow you everywhere. BJ and Daphne love to sleep in bed with their foster mom and are little shadows. These two are so very sweet and loving and will make some lucky family an excellent addition.

If you would like to adopt BJ and Daphne, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Houdini
Houdini

Houdini was thrown out of a moving vehicle in the country. He is between three and five years old and a complete sweetheart. He loves to play and gets along great with all of his foster fur siblings. Unfortunately he was diagnosed with early cataracts. Because of this his sight is not very good. We are going to look into cataract surgery, but it is very expensive so he may need help with the cost. We want to be able to restore vision if at all possible. He is too young to go blind. Please consider helping this little guy gain his sight back. He deserves a much better life than what he had.

If you would like to adopt Houdini, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

He loves to run and play in the yard and has a lot of energy for his age. He is very good with potty training though occasionally he will try to mark. For the most part he has had very few accidents in the house. His tongue slightly sticks on his left side of his mouth. He loves to give kisses and sleep in bed with his humans. Salem can't wait to meet his new family.

Pepe
Pepe

Pepe was dumped at the shelter by his family. After getting blood work at the vet it was discovered he is a diabetic. He takes insulin twice a day and is doing great. Pepe is eight years old and full of spunk. He zips around the house and yard like a three old and is such a sweet boy. He is housebroken and is learning the dog door. It makes us so sad when a wonderful pug is taken to a shelter to die. This boy loves everyone and gets along great with the pugs in his foster home. He can't wait to meet his new family and give them lots of love and kisses.

If you would like to adopt Pepe, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Belle Starr
Belle Starr

Belle Starr is a sweetheart through and through. She is a approximately seven years old and was mistreated for most of her life. She is learning how to love and be loved. When she first came to us, she was so scared she hid in her crate all day. Now, she loves to follow us around the house and be petted. She sleeps just fine in her crate. She isn't quite house-trained, but she mostly goes on the newspapers. She is terrified of going outside, so we're working on that. She gets along fine with other dogs, although she is scared of people she doesn't know. Belle is a pretty little girl with an adorable underbite smile and would do best in a patient, quiet home. She'll take some time to warm up to you, but once she does Belle Starr will steal your heart.

If you would like to adopt Belle Starr, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Cookie
Cookie

Cookie came in with two others and was used all of her seven years for breeding. She is dangerously overweight but has lost some pounds all ready just by feeding good food and monitoring portions. She is a sweet girl and gets along great with her foster sisters. She is hoping a loving family will adopt her and let her be the pug she was always meant to be. Her forever home would have to continue her weight loss program so she can get healthy and breathe easier. Cookie is feeling the love and wants to share her love with a family that will love and take care of her forever.

If you would like to adopt Cookie, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Flora
Flora

Flora may be eleven years old, but you would never know it. She likes to run and play outside and does the "pug dance" like a two year old. After her dental she only has a few teeth left so will need soft food mixed with very small kibble. Flora is a very sweet girl and loves to be loved on. She gets along very well with all the other pugs and has only had one accident in the house. She actually has excellent manners, and loves all the doggie beds. I never know which bed I will find her in. Please consider giving this sweet senior a home to call her own and live the rest of her life in.

If you would like to adopt Flora, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Peanut
Peanut

Peanut is seven years old and has been having puppies all her life. When she came to us she was over 32 pounds and is now down to less than thirty. She continues to lose and will soon have her pretty puggy figure back. Peanut was never socialized so is learning what being a pug is all about. She is starting to look at toys but not sure what to do with them. She does love nylabones and balls! The longer she is with us, the bigger lover she becomes. Peanut loves attention but is still pretty shy with people she doesn't know. She is learning from her foster fur siblings that being petted is a good thing. She is doing well on her house manners and is great going into a crate. Peanut is hoping for a forever family to love who will have the patience to continue to work with her and give her all the love she deserves.

If you would like to adopt Peanut, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Gilligan
Gilligan

Gilligan is an adorable 14 year old boy. When he came into rescue he literally had hundreds of fleas on him. He was left in the yard with no food when his family moved. He is deaf and blind although he might see some shadows. He is a very unusual brindle color and a sweet old man. You would never guess his age by his actions. Gilligan loves to nibble on you and lick your arm. He even will play with a toy now and then! He is deaf and can't see much but that doesn't stop our senior bundle of energy. He is quite the character and will keep you entertained. He still needs to gain some weight but other than that is healthy and happy. Gilligan does great with his foster fur brothers and sisters and hopes a family will consider giving an old man a loving home to spend his twilight years in.

Hailey and Howard
Hailey and Howard

Hailey and Howard are two sweet seniors that are completely bonded. They are between ten and twelve years old and are absolutely precious. They are smart, well mannered and completely housebroken. Their family could no longer provide for them so they came to us on a six hour transport. The rode like champs, and enjoyed their beds and big chew bones on the way. They are looking for another forever home that will love them as a couple.

Hailey is a petite girl, and loves to be with her human. She is the sweetest girl ever and gets along well with her foster fur siblings, including the kitties.

Howard is around twelve but still young at heart and sweet as can be. He has great house manners and will even wait to be invited on the sofa to lay with you.

If you would like to adopt Hailey and Howard, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Sock
Sock
Sock

Sock is seven years old and came into rescue after a recent breeder release. She spent all of her life having puppies. She is a very sweet girl, but very shy as she barely had any human contact in her life prior to coming to us. She grows more self confident and friendly every day and loves to watch her foster fur sisters and brothers interact. She seems to be learning so much from them. She loves to sleep with her human and doesn't much care for her crate but will go in if necessary. Who can blame her! She was crated most of her life. Sock loves to lie on the sofa and watch television, but isn't much of a cuddler yet. Sock continues to grow more trusting of humans everyday and is looking for a forever family that will have lots of patience as she grows into the pug she was always meant to be.

If you would like to adopt Sock, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Marilyn
Marilyn

Marilyn is 13 and was surrendered by her family. The new baby made her nervous but Marilyn is as sweet as can be. She loves to follow you around and although she is a big girl she doesn't mind being in your lap. Marilyn is on a diet to regain her girlish figure so measuring her food intake is a must. She is a laid back girl but has moments when she will play with a toy, although she loses interest fast. She knows how to use a dog door and loves to sleep with her human if she can. It is hard to lose your family after 11 years but she has adjusted well and is hoping there is someone out there that would love to give this sweet senior a forever home. She is a very easy keeper but you must go out with her when she needs to potty. She doesn't like to be alone. Marilyn would prefer to be the only queen in her castle.

If you would like to adopt Marilyn, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Sammie
Sammie

Sammie is a handsome eight year old boy. He takes medication twice a day to control seizures. If he stays on his meds he is seizure free. Sammie was with us for almost a year and then was adopted. We thought we had found the perfect home for him but that wasn't the case. He was recently returned to us for no reason of his own. Sammie is one of the sweetest, most gentle boys we have ever had. He loves to be next to you on the sofa and he loves to give kisses. He is so deserving of a family of his own to love and we can't understand why he is back. Sammie just had a dental. He had some infected teeth and feels so much better and his kisses no longer knock you over. Sammie needs a quiet and peaceful environment to call his own and a family that will never turn their back on him again and will love him forever.

If you would like to adopt Sammie, be a Virtual Foster or just make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.
