Just
a few words about our babies. We will no longer adopt to families
with a big dog either outside or inside. Too many of our pugs
have been either injured or killed by large dogs that have gotten
along with them for years. We simply can not take that chance
any longer. If you have any questions, contact
us for more information.
Adoption Fees
Adoption fees range from $200.00 to $300.00 depending on the
age and health of the Pug. The fee will be discussed during
the application period. The fee is in place to cover the costs
of vaccination, spay or neuter, heartworm testing and to treat
other medical issues.

| Hubert
|
|
|
Hughbert was plucked from a busy street in the nick of time.
A kind lady rescued him from getting hit by a car and no one
seemed to be looking for him. He had severe skin issues due
to fleas and didn't appear very well cared for. After his bath,
he looked and felt like a new puggie!! Hughbert is a sweet boy
and most likely no more than five according to our vet. He gets
along great with his foster fur brothers and sisters and is
hoping to find a home soon that will love him forever.
If you would like to adopt Hubert, be a Virtual Foster or just

him anymore. He is a typical puppy and loves to play but doesn't
always like to share his toys. : But he loves his sweaters.
We had to buy him another when we washed the sweater he came
in. He has some awesome head wrinkles and is hoping his forever

and three years old. He is an active boy and loves to play.

little guy. Dude would love another small dog to play with and

| Mia
|
|
|
Mia was surrendered by her owner when they couldn't afford surgery
to remove a bladder stone. She is seven years old and is very
small and low to the ground. bitty thing. The stone was the
size of an egg and she feels so much better with that nasty
thing out of her. Mia loves to be with her person and can make
some pretty unusual sounds when she wants your attention. She
is a sweetheart and loves to hang out on the sofa with her family.
She gets along great with her foster brothers and sisters but
would have no problem being the only fur kid in the home.

| Bear
|
|
|
Bear is a handsome boy that was in a Wichita shelter. We estimate
his age to be between three and five years old. He had horrible
teeth so will get a dental and soon have a pearly white smile.
He runs around his foster home like a puppy and gets along great
with his foster pug sisters and brothers. He is a small boy,
only weighing sixteen pounds and although shy at first, he can
be quite the snuggle bunny when the mood strikes him. He is
a smart boy and quickly be put on the bed to go to sleep. If
you have been considering a black pug to love, Bear might make
the perfect addition to your family. How can anyone resist that
smile!
Update: Bear had a dental and his teeth were so bad that
he lost 22 of them! He will be on soft food but he feels so
much better and is hoping his forever home will find him soon.

| Cindy
|
|
|
Cindy is an old, sweet girl. Her skin was horrible on her belly,
bits of her back and her tail base, but now after some TLC it
is on the mend. Miss Cindy loves everybody, she is a little shy
at first but warms up quickly. Her foster family says she is
the perfect dog because she gets along with other dogs, people,
doesn't bark and is housebroken. She requires a bit of soft
food mixed in with her kibble to help her eat due to lack of
teeth. It seems she may have some visual and audio impairments
but it doesn't faze her one bit. Will you consider adopting
this super sweet senior who still has lots of love to give.
If you would like to adopt Cindy, be a Virtual Foster or just
make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

| Pop
Tart |
|
|
Pop Tart is an adorable little girl under a year old. She came
to us as a stray and was very fearful and shy. She has come
a long way, but still has anxiety issues if she is left alone.
She likes to play but is a very needy little tyke. Pop Tart
would do best in a home with at least one family member home
most of the time and needs the companionship of another dog
in the home to continue to give her confidence. If you think
you are that special home, please complete an application for
Pop Tart on our website.

Rainey is a sweet seven year old that is looking for a home
to call her own. I think she is letting us know how it feels
to not have a family to love. Rainey has had a few litters of
puppies but that life is a thing of the past and she is all
ready to meet her new family. She is an adorable girl that will
give years of love to her new best friends. She would do well
as an only child or would welcome a fur brother or sister also.

girl.

little girl. She came to us with lots of skin issues due to
poor food and care. She looks great now and her coat is nice
and shiny. Whitney loves everyone and is a very spunky girl
who loves to be wherever her human is. Don't let her age fool
you, she has lots of energy left and is such a cutie. Whitney
has lots of years left to give pug love and is hoping a loving
family will see how special she is and give her a place to call
home forever.

| Esther
|
|
|
Esther has an interesting story to tell. She was rescued from
a puppy mill and was adopted through another rescue. After thinking
she had a forever home, she wound up at a local shelter with
an infected eye that was so bad it had to be removed. We are
told Esther is thirteen years old but don't tell her that as
she believe herself to be much younger, and besides she is deaf
and wouldn't hear you anyway. My nickname for Esther is Bat
Girl because she has the cutest ears that stand up all the time.
She is such a sweet girl and deserves a home that can show her
that humans can be kind. She doesn't have the personality of
a mill pug and is very trusting and loving. Don't let her age
keep you away, she has lots of years of lovin left. I know this
because she told me.
If you would like to adopt Esther, be a Virtual Foster or just

that will love her forever. She gives sweet puggie kisses and
will make a perfect lap pug as she is only thirteen pounds.

|
| Dori

|
Dori is a beautiful two year old. She was in a very bad place
and being used for breeding. She had a litter pug mixes and
the previous owner wanted to give her and the pups away. She
was shy when we first brought her into rescue and her coat was
very bad due to neglect and bad food. She is just the sweetest
little girl now and likes to snuggle but will also lay down
by herself when she wishes to. She gets along with the other
pugs in her foster home and will fall asleep with a toy in her
mouth. If you have been looking for a black female pug to love,
Dori might be the one for you.
If you would like to adopt Dori, be a Virtual Foster or just

| Chumley
|
|
|
Chumley was picked up as a stray in Sallisaw, OK. He had no
tag or collar and no one came to claim him. He is a big boy,
weighing in at 28 pounds!! He is such a handsome man and we
think he is around six years old. He fit right in with his foster
family and foster sisters and brothers. He gets along great
with all of them and is a calm, easy going guy that loves to
follow you everywhere. He gets really excited and animated during
feeding time and will bark if you don't hurry getting his bowl
filled. He is such a sweetheart and hoping a wonderful family
will see how handsome he is and provide him with a forever home.
Update: He has lost weight and is more like 22 lbs.
now. His vision is not too good and will need cyclosporine drops
for the rest of his life. He does have hip problems, he is on
Rymadyl and is doing very well with it.

| Buddy
|

Buddy
was in a Topeka shelter and no one claimed him. He was heartworm
positive and has severe luxating patella on both knees. We have
treated the heartworms and are saving up for his knee surgeries.
He is the sweetest boy ever and immediately fit right in with
his foster brothers and sisters. He loves to play and run with
his foster brothers and sisters but has to stop as his knees
start to bother him. He loves everyone he meets and especially
loves his foster Grandmother. Buddy is between two and four
years of age and is a joy to have around. He is looking for
a forever home to recuperate in.

surgeries so he can run and play like all the other pugs.

| Irving
|
|
|
Poor
little Irving was a stray that no one claimed. It was obvious
he had been severely neglected in his past life. His skin was
horrible and infected and he was skin and bones. He also had
a urinary tract infection. We have been working on both of those
issues and he is starting to respond to treatment. He still
looks a bit moth eaten but we are hoping after lots of love,
good food and meds, he will be a very handsome boy with a beautiful
coat. He is such a sweet boy and a very lovable, happy go lucky
fella. He gets along great with his foster brothers and sisters
and loves to be with people. Irving deserves a forever home
and a family that loves him.
Update: Irving has had a clean bill of health and no
longer has a urinary tract infection. He no longer has a moth
eaten coat. In fact he has a beautiful coat and no longer has
bare spots. He will need to stay on a grain free dog food. He
is a delight and quite funny. He is very friendly!!
If you would like to adopt Irving, be a Virtual Foster or just
make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

her but just can’t keep her anymore. It is so sad when these
sweet seniors have to find a new family. Bella is very affectionate
and loves to be the center of attention. She gets along with
other animals but does like to push the others out of the way
to get lap space. She is not aggressive, but just making sure
she is close to her human. Bella has been well taken care of
and loved. Please consider opening your heart and home to this

| Miles
|
|
|
We
are not sure how Miles wound up in a Wichita shelter, but we
are glad he is part of the Homeward Bound family. Miles is a
sweet, loving fellow between four and six years old who would
like nothing more than to snuggle with you all day and night.
Miles also enjoys his meals, hanging out with his canine foster
sister and going for walks. He especially loves his seven year
old human foster sister to hold the leash while he takes a trip
around the block. He adores everyone he meets, canine and human
alike, and is always ready to make a new friend. Miles does
have chronic dry eye and will need daily drops to keep his eyes
moist, but that doesn’t stop him from his primary job, which
is lovin’. If you are looking for a new friend that will love
you forever, please consider sweet Miles.
If you would like to adopt Miles, be a Virtual Foster or just
make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

is a darling Pug/Shih Tzu mix that was found on the streets
with her mate. A week after coming into rescue she presented
us with three beautiful puppies. The puppies are now ten weeks
old and Snickers is ready to meet her new family. There are
no more puppies in her future. Snickers is a loving little girl
who also loves to play. She is no more than two years old and
just fun to watch. She would do best in a home with another
young playful dog. She is a cutie!!

by herself if she can get lots of love and attention.

| Duke
and Duchess |
|
|
Duke
and Duchess were surrendered when the large dog in the family
started being aggressive with them. Their daddy had passed away
and their mommy worried about their safety after they got attacked.
They are eight years old and have never been apart so we promised
we would adopt them together. They are sweethearts and Duchess
is a little spitfire living up to the black female characteristics.
They are both laid back but Duchess has more energy than Duke.
Like any pug, they love being where you are. Duchess has started
playing with toys and sometimes they do play with each other.
When Duke gets excited his whole body shakes and he almost falls
over!! They get along great with their foster fur siblings an
dare enjoying sleeping in the foster family’s bed. These babies
will make the perfect lap dogs for a family that is home a lot
and has a nice quiet environment.

| Mick
|
|
|
Mick
may not be the most handsome pug on the planet but he might
be the sweetest one. Mick was picked up as a stray in a small
town in OK. He spent three weeks at the shelter and no one came
looking for him. When we picked him up he was covered in ticks
and very thin. It was obvious the ticks had been feeding on
him for quite some time and they covered his head and were in
his ears. He does have luxating patellas also.
He is now in foster care and doing great. He has gained weight
and his coat is jet black and shiny. He has a snaggle tooth
and his tongue hangs out all the time but he makes up for his
lack of beauty with his personality. He is a very happy, playful,
loving guy. He loves his mealtime and will let you know that
you had better hurry up and put some food in his bowl. He is
good with other dogs and loves people. He will follow you everywhere.
He has a few medical issues such as dry eye but nothing that
keeps him from getting around just fine. We think he is between
four and five years old and it appears he hasn’t had a very
good life until now. Mick is making up for lost time and will
make some lucky family a great addition.
If you would like to adopt Mick, be a Virtual Foster or just
make a donation, contact us at homewardboundpugs@cox.net.

Roxie
had to be surrendered by her momma when she could no longer
afford to keep her. Roxie is a beautiful four year old. She
was treated for heartworms while in her previous and came through
her treatment fine. She can now be placed in a loving forever
home. She is the sweetest girl and is on a diet to help her
gain her girlish figure back. Roxie gets along great with all
the other pugs in her foster home. Roxie does have some separation
anxiety and needs to be in a home with at least one other small
dog. She does NOT do well in a crate so would need to be gated
with another dog in a safe open room when no one is home. She
loves to sleep with her human and will be sad if she can't.

Buster
was in a shelter alone and scared. He was in relatively good
condition and we don't understand why his family didn't come
for him. He is four or fives years old and came in with a slight
limp so may have been bumped by a car. Buster is such a sweet
boy and loves to be made of. He does very well with his foster
fur brothers and sisters but wouldn't mind being an only child.
Buster is going to make some lucky family a great new family
member. He is laid back and just wants to hang out with his
human. Buster still needs to gain some weight but he loves his
food, so that won't be problem for him. He is such a sweetheart!
Update: Buster has osteoarthritis and will need supplements
to help him feel good. He gets along great and loves to play
with other pugs and with his toys. He especially likes hooves
to chew on and doesn't wish to be disturbed when he has one.

to be the alpha we feel Gucci would do best in a home where
she is the only pampered princess. She is a sweet and loving
girl and has had obedience training. I am sure she may need
a refresher course to relearn her commands but is smart and
willing to learn. Gucci is ready to meet her new family and
start her new life.

follows his foster mom around everywhere. He doesn’t have to
be in your lap but always has to be close by. He likes to sleep
on a bed on the floor next to you when you go to bed. He is
just so grateful to be out of the shelter and get love. Girard
is eager to start his new life. Girard tested positive for Heartworms

is an 10 year old pug. His former owners had moved and left
Paddy behind to fend for himself. He is the sweetest dog. He
loves to snuggle close on the couch and in bed. Even though
he's a little older, he still loves to play with his pug foster
brothers. He loves treats (of course, he is a pug), but he does
not snore! If you are looking for a sweet companion in your
home - please consider Paddy. Please show him that there are
families that want to give love to a pug and will never leave
him again.

| Noah
|

|
Noah
was surrendered by his owner and was in a local shelter. We
were told he was two years old but is likely a bit older, perhaps
four or five. Noah is as round as he is long and is just too
adorable. He is a short stocky guy with a great personality.
Just look at that beautiful smile. He does have one tiny eye
but that doesn't limit him in getting where he wants to go.
Noah gets along great with all his foster brothers and sisters.
He loves to cuddle with you on the sofa at night and sleep with
his human. Noah always wants to be where his human is and is
a loyal and sweet little man. Noah can't wait to start his new
life with a family that will never leave him.

| Sammie
|
|
|
Sammie is a handsome five year old boy. He takes medication
twice a day to control seizures. If he stays on his meds he
is seizure free. Sammie was with us for almost a year and then
was adopted. We thought we had found the perfect home for him
but that wasn't the case. He was recently returned to us for
no reason of his own. Sammie is one of the sweetest, most gentle
boys we have ever had. He loves to be next to you on the sofa
and he loves to give kisses. He is so deserving of a family
of his own to love and we can't understand why he is back. Sammie
just had a dental. He had some infected teeth and feels so much
better and his kisses no longer knock you over. Sammie needs
a quiet and peaceful environment to call his own and a family
that will never turn their back on him again and will love him
forever.
If you would like to adopt Sammie, be a Virtual Foster or just
